There has been a good turnout today with children enjoying the opportunity to play outdoors in the milder weather.

The next sessions will be held in the May half term break.

Meeting with MK Play Association

Today I met with Andy Grout, Chief Executive of MK Play Association and his colleague Steve Harrison to plan the free open access children’s play activity sessions Loughton Parish Council plans to provide this year.

We have agreed on 18 sessions this year and these will be equally split between Loughton and Great Holm.

We decided to run these sessions in the Easter holidays, May half term and summer holidays. The proposed venues will be the Loughton Sports ground and the play area next to the Community Centre in Great Holm.

We presently propose the hold the sesesions on Tuesday mornings in Loughton 10am until 12.30pm and on Thursday afternoons in Great Holm 2pm to 4.30pm.

the dates proposed are

Easter holidays : 2nd, 4th, 9th & 11th April

Summer Half term : 28th & 30th May

Summer Holidays : July : 23rd 25th, 30th. August 1st, 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd, 27th 29th

MKPA will promote these via letters home via the local schools plus using their social media. The Parish Council will also leaflet and promote the plans in the Parish Council newsletter

Let’s hope we get some decent weather this summer to help make this new venture a success
