Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The village of Loughton is playing host to over 60 scarecrows in the 2015 Trail which starts from All Saints’ Church on Saturday 4 July. The scarecrows are hoping for a place on the famous red carpet, with each one representing a book, a film or a play.

Guides for the trail can be bought from the church, priced £2, on:

Wednesday 8 July 12.00 noon – 2.00pm

Saturday 11 July from 10.00am – 5.00pm,

Tea and cakes will be available from 2.00pm – 5.00pm on all weekend days.

The guide will include a quiz for the children, and a voting slip for the Visitors’ Choice award – a chance to vote for your favorite scarecrow. The entries from local people, schools and charities will be judged by Mark Neil, Milton Keynes’s Poet Laureate, Lance Fennell, a local artist based at nearly Westbury Arts Centre, and Jonny Hill from Milton Keynes Gallery.

The Trail ends with a Scarecrows’ Supper, together with a Gifts and Promises Auction on the evening of Saturday 11 July.

  1. We were not able to come to the final day of your Scarecrow trail in Loughton on 11 July but was wondering how we obtain the answers to the quizzes set by you. Any comments on this please
