Over 6500 new homes will be built in the Western Expansion Area (WEA), as well as employment land, open green spaces, parks, retail, leisure and new schools. With any new developments, the right highway infrastructure is needed. The new homes across Whitehouse and Fairfields are becoming occupied with residents. We need to ensure that there are safe crossing points for residents and cyclists. A toucan crossing is now in place between Fairfields and Fullers Slade and another one is being built on the H4 between Crownhill and Whitehouse.
The next part of the development is the building of an underpass between Two Mile Ash and Whitehouse known as the ‘Whitehouse Underpass.’ This major engineering project will mean some disruption and road closures but there will be advance warning and full diversions in place. The road closures are currently in place until work on the Whitehouse Underpass is completed in March 2020.
MK Council are hosting a series of public roadshow events for people to come along and find out more information about the scheme, traffic management and diversions.
