Great Holm residents – the tree inspector at MKC has informed the Parish Council that, regarding the Scots Pine trees at the Horseshoe Walk, some of them have been cut down now as they were causing subsidence to nearby properties. More will be felled in the autumn/winter as part of an MKC landscaping project, and will be replaced with smaller, more appropriate shrubs for the walk. Some of the oaks and more pines will be felled in order to retain the best specimens and best plant up the understorey. It will look worse before it gets better! If further info is forthcoming it will be posted here.
