I was out early this morning for a walk from Loughton to Great Holm and around Lodge Lake.

Here are some photos of the flooding.

The stepping stones across Loughton brook are completely under water

I have never seen the brook brimming over this bridge before

Have you seen this papier-mache pink pig – on the Little Loughton green?

This was a distressing sight. This pair of swans at Lodge Lake have been sitting on this nest full of eggs. But the sudden rise of the water level sent them panicking to move the eggs out of the water creeping into the nest. I do hope they are able to repair the nest and save their brood. I have been looking forward to seeing the swan chicks.

The amount of water pouring out of the lake was awesome
