Big Community Energy Switch

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Milton Keynes Council is working with energy-switching specialist ichoosr on a ‘big community switch’ scheme for Milton Keynes .  Residents are being invited to join the free and no-obligation scheme that could save them more than £150 on their annual energy costs.

ichoosr enables local communities to form an energy buying group to negotiate a bulk discount deal from power companies. The more people in the scheme, the better the deal power companies may offer.

Everyone can take advantage of the scheme, even if they use a pre-payment meter or are on a fixed deal.

It’s simple to take part in the big community energy switch:

1.       Sign up free and with no obligation on or before 15 October 2013 to tell us you are interested in switching suppliers to save money on your energy bill.

Sign up online by visiting www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/bigswitch or call the helpline on 01908 252730 (the helpline is open between 10am and 12noon, Monday to Friday, from 16 September to 4 October).

Please have your latest energy bill at hand.

2.       The energy supplier with the best deal will be determined through an auction on 16 October 2013.

3.       You will receive an email or letter (as you prefer) from 28 October 2013 with an offer, based on your energy use and the best deal from the auction. You have until 25 November to make up your mind and advise ichoosr whether you accept the offer.
