Benches in commemoration to the Duke of Edinburgh.

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Parish Council has agreed to install one bench in Great Holm, at the top of the Green overlooking Lodge Lake, and a bench and an oak tree on the grass patch where Leys Road meets School Lane in Loughton, by the Brook.

Both benches will be ornate metal in design, with a plaque explaining the benches are in commemoration of the life and work of HRD the Duke of Edinburgh. As well as being a form of commemoration, the Parish Council hopes that the benches will also provide a suitable stopping place where residents or passers-by can rest and enjoy the respective views of the two locations in the Parish.
