John moved to London Road, Loughton in 1985, with his wife and young family. In those days much of Loughton was fields, with (real) cows and sheep. His children both attended our local schools, Loughton and Denbigh, before moving on to university. John retired after 35 years in the IT industry, as an international manager for a global IT services company.
John developed a passionate interest in education and has been a school governor for over 25 years, at Loughton School, where he was Chair of Governors for 5 years, and at Denbigh School, where he is Vice Chair. He is also a member of the Milton Keynes Schools Forum and a Trustee of Shenley Leisure Centre.
John has a wide variety of interests and hobbies, including travel, DIY and gardening. He is interested in many sports, especially cricket. As well as watching and supporting England he is still an occasional club player and is Chairman of a local club, Crown Cricket Club.
Having lived in Loughton for 25 years John has seen the parish develop and grow. As well as supporting and maintaining our excellent open spaces he believes that is vitally important to preserve the community spirit that has survived and grown over the years.
